Drone Videography: Expanding Creative Possibilities
The world of cinematography is always evolving. As a freelance videographer with more than 30 years of experience, I’ve seen how new technology reshapes the way we tell visual stories. One of the most exciting breakthroughs has been the rise of drone videography.
Over a Decade of Flying Experience
I began flying drones in 2013, and what started as curiosity quickly became a creative passion. From maneuvering through factory assembly lines to capturing the intricate beauty of historic churches, drones have expanded the possibilities of video production and given clients perspectives that were once out of reach.
Precision Indoors
My ultra-compact drone is designed for tight and challenging spaces. Indoors, it can weave through galleries, churches, and other detailed environments while capturing crisp, cinematic footage. For projects that call for revealing hidden details or showcasing environments from unique angles, this drone opens doors that traditional cameras simply cannot.
Architecture From Above
With my long-range drone and telephoto lens, architectural videography takes on a new perspective. Whether it’s highlighting the scale of a corporate facility or the detail of a historic building, telephoto capabilities allow me to achieve dramatic close-up visuals while maintaining safe FAA-compliant distances.
This approach has also transformed my concert videography, where dynamic long-range shots bring new energy and motion to live performance coverage.
FAA-Certified and Proven
I was the first freelance videographer approved by the FAA to fly at an international airport — a milestone that demonstrates both technical skill and the ability to navigate complex regulations. Every flight is backed by licensing, insurance, and years of professional experience, giving clients peace of mind along with creative results.
Turning Stories Into Aerial Narratives
Every project is different. My goal is to match drone technology to the vision of the client, whether that means a soaring aerial establishing shot, an immersive indoor reveal, or a dramatic architectural perspective. With the right planning, drones don’t just add visuals — they expand the story.
